Blue Submarine No. 6 was practically the first anime to blend in 2D character animation with 3D environments complete with rich Digital Sound. In the near future, due to global warming, almost all Earth is underwater. The evil scientist Zorndyke has turned his back on humanity and has begun to attack mankind with an army of mutants at his disposal. Now the only force on the planet that can stop him is the Blue Fleet, the army of powerful submarines, including Blue 6.
One of Blue 6's officers, Mayumi Kino, is ordered to find Tetsu Hayami, a former member of the Blue Fleet and convince him to return to Blue 6. However, Hayami refuses since he's a member of a salvage team now. But, when Zorndyke attempts to attack the city, Hayami might be forced to go back to Blue 6 anyway.
